Whose Mind Is It Anyway?

Whose Mind Is It Anyway

Franco Exile and Lisa Exile wrote an excellent book called Whose mind is it Anyway? Get out of your head and into your life. It took less than an hour to read. It also had photos! You can’t say that often about a business book.

Although it’s not as well-known, it is an excellent book for your business.

These people also have a great sense of humor. This is not always a part of a business book. It begins with a drawing that admits that people do not always tell the truth. Okay, that’s it. It’s out there.

It helps you see beyond the mind’s tricks to your deep wisdom. It allowed me to see the problem I was facing in a different way and solve it.

Its funny wisdom impressed me so much that I wanted these nuggets to share with you:

Nugget #1 – We believe we are our minds.

It’s not good. Our thinking is not all that matters. Thinking isn’t wisdom. It’s just thinking. It doesn’t allow for much fresh perspective, does it? That illogical inspiration in us is what connects to everything, most profound sense. Our mind is only part of who we are. We possess more profound wisdom.

Nugget #2 – Feeling stressed is a choice.

Talk about poking the bear! This one was very personal to me. It came after a stressful day. Your reality is your creation. Your mind will believe what it thinks. It’s designed to do that. Your choice is made in the way you respond and what you believe.

Nugget #3 – More control is not the solution.

Entrepreneurs can develop a control culture in their businesses. Attention to detail can help you get everyone else to pay more attention. You must stop trying to control everything and learn to trust. You can handle anything that comes up. It will all work out. Are you already feeling more relaxed?

Nugget #4 – Your mind is a poor student.

Our minds are willing, even enthusiastic learners. This is not about just collecting facts. Learning that leads to change is what I mean. Change is a resistance to the mind. Change involves discomfort. Even if you are careful, change can bring about uncertainty. Change is crucial for your business to grow and, subsequently, your personal growth. Expect your mind to be a reluctant partner. But, for the essential things, you should bring them along.

Nugget #5 – Mind as a team member.

It’s a powerful combination to bring your intuition and your heart together. Both can lead, but neither should be the only one. Your heart will not remind you to pay your invoices, collaborate with others or take action. Your mind will. Accept it as a team player. Although it is more complex, it is the best way to bring your whole self into your business and increase your impact. That’s good news for us all.

This little book is full of great wisdom that will benefit you and your company.
