* I have noticed that you’ve given much of your support to others through the coaching process and through public speaking. What did you do to become sales experts as an individual who was not socially adept?
There’s a myth that says to be successful in sales; you need to be a booming speaker. I discovered early in my profession that people love hearing and prefer to talk more than listen. This is why I would ask more questions than talk. It doesn’t take any effort to get people talking. In a way, my lack of social skills actually worked to my advantage.
* What are your suggestions for female entrepreneurs who lack confidence?
The lack of confidence among people is due to the negative thoughts that play in our minds like a tape recorder in an endless loop. The mindset repeats what people have told us or we have heard from others as hostile or false information that we believe to be true. When you are conscious of the conversation and let it go and begin to re-fill your mind with fresh, empowering conversations. The practice of mindfulness helped me get rid of the negative thoughts that had been running in my mind for more than 30 years.
* What is the most rewarding moment in your career?
I was overcoming my anxiety about speaking in public. I moderated the panel in front of 500 people. It was my first public speaking experience following an embarrassing experience. I was so nervous that I considered cancelling the evening prior to. I actually enjoyed it, and the producers of the conference invited me to host the two-day event next year. The most important thing was that I felt like I was invincible. A few years later, I pursued my desire to help people succeed in doing what they enjoy, so they can be happy and positively impact the lives of those around them”.
* What’s so amazing concerning Mindful Sales?
I know what it’s like to be unconfident or feel insecure and feel that you’re not naturally a schmoozer, and these feelings can affect the effectiveness of your sales. After having started several companies and working in another start-up, I am also aware of the struggles of those first essential sales needed to start the business off on the starting point. Of course, my experience of 18 years selling in 20 countries can help.
What are your opinions regarding courage, motivation, and passion?
I believe that courage is the act of being courageous in spite of fear, and it’s like a muscle that is developed with practice. I believe that we are more driven when we’re doing something with something bigger than ourselves, which benefits other people. Remembering your mission can help you improve your performance. When you’re involved in something you love, you make a statement and inspire others by sharing your enthusiasm.
* As someone who fervently believes in entrepreneurialism, What advice would you give to job seekers who have talent?
Consider, what am I obsessed with? What are you spending a lot of time considering? What do you think you’d do if money wasn’t a problem? Consider who will benefit from your passion or how you could assist others with your passion. People pay for worth, so finding out ways to make people’s lives easier gets you thinking about how you can profit from that passion.
